About and a model of the narrow gauge steam engine designated Bn2t Freudenstein.
Julius Freudenstein produced steam engines in his factory in Berlin between 1891 and 1905. In 1904 he received an order for a steam engine that would have a water capacity of 1200 liters and carry 350 kilograms of coal. It was to run on 1000 mm track. It was able to run at 40 km per hour. It weighed about 9.4 tons. It was designated Bn2t.
There were about 300 of these engines built. There are now only 5 of these narrow gauge steam engines in existance.
The German authorities eventually sent all the engines to serve on the “Eastern Front”.
