Sound File Formats For DFPlayer Pro
These are the file formats that you can use.
MP3 (MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3): The most widely used audio format, providing good audio quality and compression.
WAV (Waveform Audio File Format): A standard format for uncompressed audio files, offering high-quality audio but with larger file sizes compared to compressed formats.
WMA (Windows Media Audio): A proprietary audio format developed by Microsoft, commonly used for online streaming and Windows media players.
AAC (Advanced Audio Coding): A popular format known for its higher audio quality and smaller file size compared to MP3 files.

How To Load Sounds On DF PlayerPro
- Collect or record your sounds
- Put them in a directory labeled player sounds.
- Open that directory.
- Connect the DF Player Pro to your computer with a USB C cable.
- The computer will detect the new device and open a new screen on your computer.
- Copy your choice of sounds to the Player directory.
- Disconnect the player from the computer.

Playing Sounds On The DFPlayer Pro
The player can be controlled manually. The manufacturers WIKI details a few methods. None of these methods allows for the automatic control that modelers generally need such as warning bells to automatically start ringing when a train enters the protected area of a level crossing.
Automatic playing requires the “music” voice prompt to be removed and the player to be controlled by a special program loaded on a connected Arduino Nano.
