Bluetooth Speaker

Bluetooth speakers come in many shapes, sizes and price ranges. When choosing one, be sure to check what is said about its audio quality. Lower priced models will usually have lower audio quality.

For a modeler or diorama maker, high quality audio is not a necessity. Thunder, trains bells and other typical sounds used by these folks plays sufficiently well on a low quality speaker.

In any case the instructions that come with a  speaker tell you how to power it and prepare it for pairing with the mp3 player.

MP3 Player

Attached to the MP3 player must be a Bluetooth transmitter module. It is important to note that this is not an HC-05 in transmit mode.  An HC-05 transmits and receives data.  A Bluetooth transmitter module transmits audio.

The transmitter module will have four pins.  +5v, Grnd, Audio L and Audio R. +5v and Grnd connections are self explanatory. Audio L and Audio R connect to Spkr1 and Spkr2, respectively, on the MPs player.

To Start Playing

Turn  player and Bluetooth speaker power on.

The led on the audio transmitter will flash rapidly

Press button on the audio transmitter to put it in pairing mode.  The flash rate of the led will slow indicating it is ready to pair.

Follow the instructions for your Bluetooth speaker to have it pair.

When the player starts, you will hear the audio on the Bluetooth speaker.

One paired, the speaker and player stay paired.
