The following procedure uses inexpensive materials to make beautiful light snow suitable for dioramas, winter scenes, and train layouts.
How To Make Snow
- Add 1 cup of baking soda to a bowl.
- Add a small amount of inexpensive foam shaving cream.
- Mix well until combined.
- Adjusted density of the snow by adding more shaving cream or more baking soda.
- Add glitter for more effect.
Less shaving cream added to the bowl results in a finer snow that is very easy to distribute through a fine mesh strainer.
Denser snow, made by adding more shaving cream, is great for making snowdrifts and the like.
