The Narrow Gauge engine types are designated by a series of letters as follows.

“X” – Number of drive axles;
B – 2
C – 3
D – 4
“n” – saturated steam powered (Naßdampf) ;

“x” – number of cylinders;

“t” – steam lokomotive without tender (water tanks on two sides of locomotive) ;

Bn2t is the type of Narrow Gauge steam locomotive without tender of the B-axis (0-2-0) system, with twin two-cylinder engine powered by saturated steam. Produced by August Borsig Berlin-Tegel Factory in Berlin during 1924-1925

Cn2t is the type of Narrow Gauge steam locomotive without tender of the C-axis (0-3-0) system, with twin two-cylinder engine powered by saturated steam. Example Cn2t Las It’s a 3 axle polish version of german “Riesa” produced during 1947-48 in Fabryka Lokomotyw im. Feliksa Dzierżyńskiego in Chrzanow.

Dn2 is the type of Narrow Gauge steam locomotive without tender of the D -axis (0-4-0) system. Example austrian kkStB 73
